The big garden cleanup!

Colin, with a little assistance from me and Luke, has been busy cleaning up the back yard/garden this weekend. This has involved cleaning the pots, sweeping up and jet washing the yard to get all the dirt off it. Last year I entered him in the local "in bloom" competition as a bit of a joke although I thought he had done a cracking job of our yard. We were both delighted when he got 2nd place. We attended a presentation evening and he got a cheque for £50 which was very useful plants. This year we want that 1st place and he has been working hard on the back for months. As the judges come round in July he had a final spruce up in readiness. Below are some photos of the back as it is now. Hopefully the judges won't come round for another couple of weeks and there will be a few more flowers out.

These 2 photos are of along the side wall, under the playroom window. The pots at the back of the shot below are actually raised up on an old coffee table that we no longer wanted and which makes a great bit of staging for them!

This is a close up of one of the 3 tier planters near our patio door. These were birthday presents for Colin originally. Below is a shot of the back wall along by the patio doors.
