Finishes Stitching Witch and Honeysuckle Courtyard Stitching Witch doesn't count as it's not more than 6 months old but Honeysuckle Courtyard does!  As a mix of speciality stitches and cross stitch I think it falls in the £8.00 category.

So carry forward to March is going to be £46.51

This month I have bought some fabrics as well but they have been put away for my birthday and so don't count. I never even got to open the packet!

January reveiw / February goals

January goals

• A new project every day...yikes!  Some of these will be WIP's...well more UFO's so they will seem like new projects anyway :)  FAIL - I got really fed up of keep getting a new project (or a different project) out every day and quit the challenge.  As one commenter told me, Debbie would have been the first to remind me that stitching is supposed to be fun.
• Stitch Holmsey Hare for January. FAIL - I want a nice piece of fabric for this one and as yet haven't found it.
• Make good progress on Honeysuckle Courtyard as Colin's parents 50th is in April (at least 4 bands).  WOOHOO - one that I actually managed to do! 
• Not spend any of my SfS budget. FAIL - but in fairness, if I had bought the JCS ornie issue last year when I thought I had, I wouldn't have spent a penny :)

February goals

• Make good progress on Honeysuckle Courtyard.  It would be nice to pretty much finish it off if possible so that I can send it off to be framed.
• Stitch an ornie from JCS.

I'm not going to have too many goals as I do want to focus Honeysuckle Courtyard.

Stitch from Stash - August

From a stitching point of view, it has been a very good month.  Sadly from a Stitch from Stash point of view it wasn't a great month, even with the bonus Mel was kind enough to give us.  So here is what I have been buying...

First up was this sampler book which has a gorgeous stitching/sewing sampler on the front but has another 14 too.  The motifs would be lovely for smalls stitching.  

Then there was a piece of black aida for some halloween stitching.

I went mad and bought a piece of pale blue evenweave to restart cat's alphabet on too.

The next thing(s) won't count as it is some replacement 'bits' for my Q Snaps.  2 of my old ones were very loose so I thought it would be money well spent.

Whilst I was looking for the Q Snap bits, I stumbled across the chart section (how did that happen?) and saw this little cutie.  

I also ordered some threads and ric rac from Nancy at the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  The pumpkin on the right is/was intended to use for StitchersAnon's Halloween SAL possibly on black fabric. The jury is still out on this one as I have also ordered some Pumpkin Patch from Sparklies which hasn't arrived as yet.  The left is Antique Plum Perfect.  Neither of them look anything like the colours they are in real life.  The ric rac was just a 10 yard mix that she had, I'm sure they will come in useful. 

And finally...I managed to pick up a finished with kit of the Cut Thru Caravan off a lady who had stitched it on facebook.  There is actually quite a lot of thread still left but I am going to work out the DMC ones that are needed. 

So that completes my round up of the month!  The tally is...

Stitch from Stash update

First of all I have to admit to a carry-over from last month.  I treated myself to The Frosted Pumpkin's Halloween Town SAL and forgot to declare it.  All month I have meant to email Mel but didn't quite get round to actually doing it!  Sorry Mel :(

Anyway, the Halloween Town SAL was £6.73 with the currency conversion.  I have gone absolutely mad this month and bough a DMC 420 for 69p, making this month's total £7.42 if I can add up correctly!

I have had a new start, all from stash.  I am working on Bothy Threads Cut Thru Haberdasher's.  It's the chart version from a few years ago when they still did charts so I am stitching it on 28ct white jobelan with DMC.

Stitch from Stash - June update

Well last month, my post had barely made it onto my blog when my finger accidentally slipped on sewandso.co.uk and ordered 3 pieces of fabric.  I wasn't sure which colour would be best so that's the reason for 3 pieces.  So that was £14.49

Then Thread Pickerz on facebook had some really pretty threads, so I thought I would try some.  That was another £9.30.  Oops!

Oh dear...and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse I bought a new Q Snap frame and some Sulky Sliver to try gridding with. That was another £13.45.  I wonder if Mel would let me have another free month if I smiled sweetly?

I suppose I also should declare that I have signed up for Gaynor's (StitchersAnon) cross stitch retreat next year too. The stitching retreat is a bargain at 100 Euros.  I am so excited already, and it's not until May next year!

I have just received Bothy Threads Cut Thru Noah's Ark and Bothy Threads Kings and Queens but my mean, nasty husband (yes, Colin...that's you!) has put them away for Christmas.  I also received £10 of threads from The Patchwork Rabbit today seeing as we have extra money this month.  This has been added to my total above.

Stitch from Stash - May update

Stitch from stash is going brilliantly this month.  After last month's splurge I haven't spent a single penny...not one!  I haven't had any new starts at all either.  In fact I was so good, it's unreal!  I wanted to start a new design, pulled it out, chose possible fabrics for it...then put it all away again and picked up a WIP instead!

Stitch from Stash - April update

This is my free month!!

Colin 'allowed' me to buy the silks for Gardens of London which cost a fair bit.  I got them from several different companies as some were cheaper than others.  If you need any Gloriana threads, I can highly recommend West End Embroidery for them.  They were over a pound cheaper than sewandso which surprised me.  Their service was very good too and threads were received within a couple of days.

The grand amount spent by me this month is...drumroll please...

This month although I got some lovely new stash to fondle, it was mostly courtesy of a 123stitch gift certificate from Linda and birthday presents from family and friends with some threads from a birthday exchange group I am part of too.  However, I did totally cave in to lust and bought Gardens of London (Chatelaine) which is available on April 1st.  I can't wait although I am hoping that Colin is going to provide the fabric or I'm stuffed!!

So...out of a possible £45.00 for the first 3 months (£15 per month) I have spent £26.53 so far.

So in the meantime...here again are all the lovely cards and threads that I received.

February's Stitch from Stash

Well yet again it has been a successful month with hardly penny spent by me. I needed some ribbon for the 'thing' I am making for Justine. The lighting is a bit harsh in Hobbycraft and I couldn't decide which ribbon to get so I brought both home for the grand price of 63p!  Must be my cheapest ever shop there!

 I have been very lucky to as Colin bought me both of these, one to cheer me up and the other for Valentine's Day.

I was even luckier when I won Linda's blog giveaway which is a gift certificate for 123stitch.  Sadly it wasn't for $500 so I am trying to narrow it down a bit.  It's quite ironic, once upon a time I would have spent it 3 times over and paid the extra but now I am trying to be 'good'.  It's hard though as there are quite a few things I would like!  Thank you Linda xx

Stitch from Stash

I have been a positive angel this month and haven't bought a single thing...not a skein of DMC, a magazine or anything!  I am VERY impressed with myself.  I have managed to dodge the Sewandso.co.uk sale and have started loads of things from my stash.  I am not going to list everything I started but if you have a look at the Crazy January Challenge tab at the top, you can see what went on.

I hope everyone else has done as well!!

SAL's for 2014

2013 saw me joining up for several SAL's which did inspire me for the first few months until I got bogged down with my university module.  So hoping that at least the same will happen again, I am going to sign up for the following SAL's.

I am going to shamelessly steal the rules from Bap Attack which is where you need to go to sign up.  

1. You must have a blog, because you'll be posting links to it. If you don't have a blog, you can still work on those old projects, lol. You just won't be eligible for the contest.

2. Pick 10 unfinished projects (why not 14 for 2014? I can't cope with where this will end up - 43 projects in 2043? Yikes)

3. Take a picture of them and make a blog post by the 10th of January.
