So...

Hello!  Long time, no see! I hope everyone is doing well.

So (as the title says), at the start of the year, I started a new rotation. Now, I'm sure that someone, somewhere has done this before, but I don't know who. I decided that I would have a 25 in 25 rotation. I didn't start off filling all 25 slots at first as I wanted to be able to add a few new starts in as I went through the year.

Also, this year is my 5th in WIP Warriors (formerly No New Starts) and I am having another SWEEWEE year.  I have done 3 years of no new starts and this is my second SWEEWEE.

Anyway, back to the rotation. I started off with 3 in each category - BAPs, large, medium and small projects. I then added in anything that I felt was 'screaming' at me to make some progress and asked the kids - who are now 23 and 26 - if there was anything they would like to add in.

Now to the rotation...
for the first rotation, I stitched 100 stitches on each project,
for the second rotation, 200 stitches per project,
for the third rotation, 300 stitches per project...and so on...
I'm sure you can see where this is going.

I chose a mix of really old projects and some that have been started much more recently.
I must admit, I cheated and did round 1 and 2 together as I didn't want to waste all that time changing the Q Snap every 30 minutes or so.

One new start I have pencilled in for the year is Kingdom of Books, which I treated myself to earlier this year.  I have thought about starting it after this current rotation which is round 5 (500 stitches per project)

I have also started Summon the Reaper by HaED, which Luke really liked. I only have about 400 stitched in it so it's not worth a picture really.

And that's it so far for the projects I'm focusing on.  I will show progress and

Blue, Smudge, Bradford

No not me!  I've had some stitching time so I'm not blue!  But look at this
Cinderella - Joan Elliott

All I have done in the last 3 days is stitch one of three shades of blue.  It's not even made for half the skirt being done...arrrggggghhhh.

I also decided to pull out Maggie the Messmaker who hasn't seen the light in years.  After about 10 minutes I remembered why - don't like the fabric and don't like the Dimensions threads either.  I think this may have to become a 2 strands a day project if it is ever going to be finished!

I also stitched the snow on Santa's House too.  Well technically I stitched, unstitched, re-stitched, re-unstitched and finally re-re-stitched the snow on Santa's House.  I cannot believe what a hash of it I made. So if anyone wants a frog, you can have mine with pleasure.

The weird cat - aka Smudge - makes a reappearance.  Seriously, this is the position he was in yesterday.  No duct tape or superglue was used.  His rear end was right up the back of the sofa.  He is such a strange one!!

Colin took Rachael and Luke to Bradford a couple of weeks ago.  The went to the National Media Museum which we hadn't heard of before but he found it on Trip Advisor.  It spans 8 floors and they had a brilliant time.  There was a dalek - luckily no one got EX-TER-MIN-ATE'd.

There was one of the sets for The Wombles. (I loved this programme as a child!)

A set from Wallace and Grommit.

Morph!!!!

An Andy Pandy set - who remembers Andy Pandy?

And they both got to read the news in the 'studio' with the autocue.  If you fancy going it is well worth a full day there.  Admission is free but you do have to pay for some of the films they show if you want to see them. There is enough for a full day without the films though!

WIP and new start pics for 2009 - part 1

These are more for my own reference than any other reason. I thought I would post pics of where I am with my WIP's as of the start of 2009. It might be interesting to see what progress actually gets made on some of them by the end of 2009!!

Snowy Days Sampler from Cross Stitcher magazine.

Bothy Threads Cut Thru Garden Shed. I REALLY want to finish this one this year.

Maggie the Messmaker. I want to make real progress on this one this year.

Last 3 Snappers need doing. Started January then March and June to do.

Cotswold Design from Cross Stitch Collection magazine. Again I would really like to make a lot of progress on this one this year.

Part 9 of How does your Garden Grow is started and I really want this finished by my birthday in March.
