Arrrrggggggghhhhhhhh

Feeling really, really fed up and in need of serious help!

I have stitched up, beaded and buttoned my Gingerbread Cupcake that Annette was so kind to send me all the embellishments for but...I can't assemble it!  Every time I do anything with it, it just looks like I have screwed up the fabric and dumped it in the cupcake case.  Annette's looks lovely...someone else's I saw on a blog looks lovely...mine? Like a 2 year old had a bad day. Feeling really annoyed with myself as I really want it on the tree!

BTW - the actual stitching, beading etc looks lovely!

So these top photos are of it 'shoved' into the cupcase mould.  I am wondering if adding more batting would do the trick.  I have to say it does actually look better in these pictures than it does in real life.

The next two are what it looks like minus the cupcake mould to show how much batting is added.

Hang in there! Come back to it after awhile away to clear your head, and you'll get it made perfectly.

The way you had the batting (for the smooth looking top) is fine and from your photos its stuffed perfectly - now stitch thru the fabric and thru the liner of the cupcake. You are almost done. That's why I went to Victoria Sampler and got Thea's finishing instructions because my cupcake was waaaay too ripply looking. That's when I learned from Thea's instructions to use the chipboard and batting. Honest Sharon from your photos you are doing Great!!! I remember feeling the same way as you at this point. When you start to sew the fabric and liner together start your stitching from inside the liner to hide the knot.
Oh my goodness your cupcake is Gorgeous! WOOHOO!!! Keep going after you stitch the fabric and liner together - you will be pleased.
love Annette
PS ask me if you have any more questions, I am happy to do my best to help.

I think it looks lovely but if you can't make it look as smooth as you want with batting maybe you could try stretching it over half a polystyrene ball?

It does look lovely. We are always so much harder on ourselves by being our worst critics. Maybe you need to walk away from it for a day or two and then retackle it. Good luck.

Sometimes if you put it down for awhile and come back to it it will be easier. It looks great from here :)

I really can't see anything wrong! If you're not entirely happy with it, best leave it for a moment... Go outside & take a deep breath!!! Try again tomorrow, I'm sure it will look even better xx

YOu can do this, sometimes you just have to step away for awhile!

It looks great to me! Just take a step away count to ten and try again if you are not happy with it though x

It does look lovely but if YOU are not happy, put it away and go back to it. Sometimes we are far too critical of our own stitching and finishing.

I like Annette's suggestion of going to the website and following their instructions. Definitely step away for a bit and come back after doing some deep breathing :D I think it looks fantastic, but I know how you feel when things don't turn out they way you want them too! Hugs!!
