As it is halfway through the year AND I have stuck to my rotation for a whole 6 months, I thought I would share what my progress has been trying it.
First up is Mini Vaccinated designed by HaED, artwork by Randal Spangler. So far this has had 7265 stitches. Although it is in my kind of 25 in 25, it is also my Leap Year SAL and so is the closest I come to having a focus piece.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Number 2, is Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings. Hopefully the 600 stitch rotation will see this first block stitched and I'll be able to start stitching the second one.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
The next project is Cat's Alphabet by Janlynn in their Platinum Collection. This is possibly my oldest project now. All I remember is that it was the first project I bought when I discovered Hobbycraft in around 2002/2003 ish. I think I started it immediately.
Progress 1/7/2025
Next up, is Everyone Brings Joy by Waxing Moon Designs. Again, this is another 'ancient' piece that I have no idea how long it has been on the go for. This was one of my pieces that I used for Miraculous Maynia to aim for a finish.
Progress 1/1/2025
Oh look! A finish! 1/5/2025
Then we have Snow Days by Mirabilia. It won't surprise you that this one has been a WIP for FOREVER either, will it? This has really seen the impact of my rotation I think and has had its 600 stitch rotation already.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
The first of my SALs that have languished for far to long. There seems to be a bit of a theme going on here :) This is also one of my WIPGo projects. This is a Flip Its series by Lizzie Kate, I think from 2002.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
The next project is Ye Olde Craft Room Kitten by HaED. The cat, if I ever reach it, looks a bit like our old Biskey. This one is only a couple of years old! This one has had its 600 stitch rotation.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Nature's Patchwork by Bucilla was, note the was, my oldest project. It could have been finished AGES ago but still required the backstitch. I am pleased to report that this has now been completed.
This is where it was on 1/1/2025
Completed 28/1/2025
Union Jack by Cherry Lane Designs was a restart. I had stitched it 1 x 1 initially and it was tiny and bulky. I love how it looks now and I hope the 600 stitches rotation will finish it off.
What it looked like 1 x 1 1/1/2025
Progress 1/1/2025
I think you will agree that it looks much MUCH better (and yes, I'm still frogging 1 x 1)
The next one is a disaster!
This is an ornie from, I think, JCS Ornament issue 2024. I was stitching it over 1 but I had made SO many mistakes that it was impossible to either unpick or fudge. So, it is one of very few projects that I have ever actually tossed in the bin. I do like it and will restart it once I recover from this one!
Progress 1/1/2025
BINNED!
Yep...next is another ancient WIP, Cut Thru Haberdasher's by Bothy Threads.
This has had its 600 stitch rotation and is looking good!
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Now, my love - hate project...Gardens of London from Chatelaine.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
As you can see, I got a bit fed up of putting in the 4 outer bits and thought I would do a bit of the outer garden and then go back and do a bit more of those later.
My Hallowe'en ornie has been on the go since 2014, I think.
Progress 1/1/2025
Finished! 20/1/2025
The ghosts were stitched with glow in the dark thread.
Rose of Sharon by Mirabilia - how I love this one! I love the design, I love the fabric I have and if it wasn't for the fact I know I would burn out on it, I'd stitch only this.
I think I know what colour conversion I want to do...
Progress 1/1/2025
Another longstanding WIP - Maggie the Messmaker from Dimensions Gold Collection. I still love this design as the cat looks like our old Smudge but there are so many colour changes and thread changes and stitch changes! I have to check the chart VERY carefully! I have finished the 600 stitch rotation.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Snowy Days by Historical Sampler Company, which I've always called Christmas Houses. Started in 2008, I believe. It's another finish after being added to Miraculous Maynia for an attempted finish.
Progress 1/1/2025
Completed 3/5/2025
Temperature Tree by Stitchin' Mommy (2022 temperatures). Again this was part of Miraculous Maynia (it being miraculous if any goals were reached)
Progress 1/1/2025
Finished - 15/5/2025
My WIPGo plans this year are based around completing SALs from past years. I randomly added a month to each month and then just decide which SAL I want to work on based on how I'm feeling and what months have been completed on each one. I have predominately focused on 2 SALs - Under the Sea SAL by Lakeside Needlecrafts and Letters from Mom by Jeanette Douglas Designs.
First up, Under the Sea SAL. Each month is completely stitched now, so only 4 left to go.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Letters from Mom
Progress 1/1/2025
Now the pouch above still looks exactly the same. However, I have stitched some of the 'letters' that will go inside it one day.
Finished 29/5/2025
Finished 11/5/2025
Finished 21/4/2025
As I have had a few finishes, I have substituted in a few other projects.
I have had 2 new starts, one of which I mentioned in my last post. I have also added in a couple of current WIPs, one of which is an oldie but goodie that could be finished this year!
Summon the Reaper from HaED. This will be for Luke - one day...
Started 9/4/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
And Kingdom Of Books which I personally think is a stunning design.
Started 1/7/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Faerie Spring Fling
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
Cinderella
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025 (shoe and cape)
AND FINALLY...
Andrew, The Runner Stitcher on FlossTube is running a marathon. To cheer him on with his training and preparation, there is a 'SAL' going where you choose a project and stitch 10x the number of miles he runs. I am a couple of weeks behind but have completed to the end of week 6. The project I chose for this was Universal Unity, a Dimensions Gold Collection kit. Whenever I look at this, it reminds of Deborah, blogger who died several years ago, but was so inspiring with the number of projects she had on the go and for the help and encouragement she gave every stitcher. She helped me to source Universal Unity as it was an old kit back then.
Progress 1/1/2025
Progress 1/7/2025
And that, as they say, is it!
Well done if you made it this far and if you did, leave me the name of your favourite needlework store in the comments please.

I love all the WIPs! You've had a very productive year. I remember SoCal Debbie and that piece - I'm glad you're working on it; it made me a little sad but it's so nice that she's still remembered.
