2014
January's progress

It's been a bit of a strange month so far as I was participating in the Crazy January Challenge where I started a different project on each of the first fifteen days of the month.  The only WIP I have worked on this month so far is Cinderella.  So here is the progress so far.

.............................................
I have copied and pasted this directly from Measi's blog so that I don't mess up with typing it all out.  Please visit the link to her blog to sign up.

2014 WIPocalypse Basic Info

So What’s New for 2014?

Giveaway Drawings return!  I wasn’t able to do this in 2013 due to Max’s birth, but now that things have settled down… we’ll have a couple of smaller drawings throughout the year.  I have ones planned for April, August, and the end of the year.  :)  Details will be forthcoming.
Monthly Theme changes to Topics:  For several years, there were various bloggers who had incarnations of the “Stitcher Blogger Questions.”  I haven’t seen them in a while, and thought it would be fun to resurrect some of them. Instead of specific designers, colors, etc… there will be a question or topic if you’d like to go further on your blog so we can all get to know our fellow stitchers.   As always – this is optional.  If you prefer to just share your progress, that’s just fine.  :)   If you want to go further and suggest some additional topics to me, please do!
Full moon dates and Topics for 2014:
January  16- Topic: Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year!
February 14 – Topic: How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time?  Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits!
March 16 – Topic:  Show us your favorite places to stitch.
April 15 – Topic:  How do you keep your stash organized?
May 14 – Topic:  What designs or themes do you really wish you could find?  What do you think is missing among stitching designs?
June 13 – Topic:  Have you ever been to a stitch gathering such as a retreat or a festival? If so, tell us about it!
July 12 – Topic:  It’s halfway to Christmas.  Do you start your holiday stitching this early?  If so, what do you hope to accomplish this year?
August 10 – Topic:  Tell us about your oldest and newest WIPs.
September 9 – Topic:  TBD
October 8 – Topic:  Are you a Halloween or Christmas stitcher?
November 6 – Topic:  TBD
December 6 – Theme: Recap your accomplishments for the year! (Your finishes, your final before/after photos, etc).

Other Helpful Things...

Message Board: Want to chat more extensively about your projects, about other crafty things you have going on, or just have more interaction with your fellow WIPocalypse stitchers?  We have a discussion forum!  It’s free to join and all are welcome.  Non-participants are welcome, too!

Designs that I want to make great progress on (or finish...hahaha) this year are:
Cinderella - Joan Elliott
Around the World - Papillon Creations
Cut Thru Stable - Bothy Threads
Honeysuckle Courtyard - Patricia Ann Designs
Santa's Village - CCN

Here are the rules for the 2013 Wipocalypse:

1)  To sign up, add your name to the auto-link at the bottom of the WIPocalypse post on measi's blog.. Unlike the WIPocalypse in 2012, there will be no deadline to sign-up… so whether you’re returning from the WIPocalypse in 2012, or stumble across this page in October of 2013… come join in!
2) Whenever you join us, make a list of the projects on which you wish to make progress. Add to and adjust this list throughout the year as you desire.  There are no restrictions regarding new starts for this SAL.  If you feel the desire to start a piece in 2013, add it to your list! The list is recommended so you can set goals for yourself (and relish in the accomplishment… and let us relish with you).
3) On each full moon (or thereabouts), post your progress photos to your site – even if your progress was slower than you hoped.  Label that post with “WIPocalypse” to make it easy for readers to find – whether in the title, or however you categorize or tag entries.

  • Garden tools - Fleur de Lys
Anything else is a bonus!!!!

As you may have heard, the world will end in 2012 (yeah, right!) but JUST in case it does measi has set up the WIPocalypse to at least try to put an end to some WIP's.  All the rules are on her blog...just follow the link above.  Measi has also set up a Yuku forum so we can support each other and follow progress more easily.  The whole idea of this challenge is fun and it is open to any and every stitcher, whatever your preference.
