So...why am I posting a photo of half a page 'finish' of Pappy Dance?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am officially at 50%</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wooooooooooohooooooooooo</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Considering that I haven't finished half a page of any of my other HaED designs, I am amazed at this one.</div>

Helllllllooooo peeps!<br />
<br />
How are you all this fine (and it actually is which makes a change for Manchester) day?<br />
<br />
I joined Full Coverage Fanatics on Facebook recently and was just in time to be able to join in with the Tour de France challenge where you have to stitch the same number of stitches each day as the number of kilometres the riders are racing that day. For once I kept up with it all the way through with there being quite a few days I was actually ahead of the pack. I made brilliant progress on Poppy Dance and decided to keep going on it once the race was over. Today, I finished off 2 pages of it (I was waiting for a colour for the end of one of them), which means there are now 10 pages completed. In terms of stitches, I am 47.43% completed. There are 72709 stitches completed, with 80591 left to go.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Poppy Dance charted by HaED<br />Marianne Broome</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MLKHYHVCJm0/XT8hOvvv1EI/AAAAAAAAFMo/EohGp1B2vFsrEo00g0aJdVO3LDrFhmdugCLcBGAs/s1600/20190729_171830.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MLKHYHVCJm0/XT8hOvvv1EI/AAAAAAAAFMo/EohGp1B2vFsrEo00g0aJdVO3LDrFhmdugCLcBGAs/s320/20190729_171830.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Although despite amazing progress on Poppy Dance, I also started Halloween by JBW Designs. It is all <a href="http://tenhourstitcher.blogspot.com/">Rachel's</a> fault. She is having some new starts this month and asked us to guess what they were. I recognised this one immediately as I have had it in my stash for a while. As you will know, I <strike>can always</strike> can never resist a new start and so found some Sparklies Thalia lurking in my stash and a nice Hallowe'en pumpkiny colour (Anchor 966 I think). Hallowe'en cats have GOT to be black in my opinion and so I changed them.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The fabric is looking really washed out in the photo, it is much richer in real life. I think it is looking gorgeous.<br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I have also been doing LOADS of finishing too. I have actually FFOed 7 things - that's right - 7! I'm saving those to show you on the 10th for Rachel's FFOing challenge.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, quite a bit actually.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

I'm going to go right back to where I left off with photos.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been stitching along on Poppy Dance by Marianne Broome, charted by HaED. I was working across 2 pages at one point but it felt unwieldy. I have part of page 11 done and have nearly finished page 12. I am using this one for the Full Coverage Fanatics facebook group's Tour de France Challenge and for the Q3 90 days Stitching Challenge. Of course, it will soon be the summer holidays too so this one can get loads of attention. I am at about 42% finished with it. The lines are due to QSnaps rather than stitching.</div>

A good friend/work colleague was married last October and I stitched a ring cushion for her. The design I chose for her was the same one that I did a few years ago (should have kept the chart!) but this time instead of white on white it was royal blue on white - not my taste but she was happy and it matched the bridesmaids dresses almost perfectly.<div>

Then I finally finished this little one. Prairie Schooler's JCS ornie 2015? It's on black - that is my only excuse. I did FFO it but the repositionable glue I used was rubbish and it all fell apart :(</div>

I'm going to do it properly in the summer holiday.</div>

Now...finishing this next one nearly made me cry with happiness. It is smaller than I imagined but it is SO adorable. Summer in Sussex was a Nutmeg Company kit that I started about a million years ago. I just had the urge to pick it up and finish it one day. The stitching that was left probably took about 2 evenings and then another evening to make it up into the little house. I didn't have a photo apparently and as I am currently phoneless (which is great!) I can't take one. I will for the next post though.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Finally, the weekend before I finished off Summer in Sussex, I had a FFOing weekend. I was up to 26 Christmas ornies that needed FFOing and so made a start on them. I tried to make one up to look like a Christmas tree and am thinking of sticking a twig or something in it to look like the trunk. What do you think? Is that a silly idea? All the ones I have seen that are made to look tree-ish are very pretty and primped. I was thinking a bit more rustic looking. So, in no particular order, here they all are.</div>

Hello, hello, and welcome one and all/or anyone still reading blogs.<br />
<br />
Rather than make this one huge, long post, I think I will break it up into several different ones. <br />
So! What has been going on since last time?<br />
<br />
Well...last September, I thought it would be a good idea to start another university degree. I mulled over whether to go down the maths route or the science one. Eventually, I decided to go for Natural Sciences with an Environmental Science specialism. However, I have since discovered that the biology bits (that I thought I would love), I hated and the chemistry (that I thought was scary), was absolutely amazing! Anyway, still waiting for the results of the first module which might make my mind up for me.<br />
<br />
In March, I turned 50. I had a brilliant birthday and Rachael was a sneaky little madam and asked some of my favourite floss tubers to make me a birthday video, which all but one obliged with. It was a brilliant surprise and just proves that Luke takes far more notice of who I watch than he admits to. Although, even he admits to enjoying The Addicted Sisters and Stitching Jules.<br />
<br />
Kids...well I don't have any anymore apparently. They are both now fully fledged and legal adults. Luke turned 18 at the start of this month, has finished his A levels (and is also awaiting results) and has left college. He plans to go to uni if he gets the results he wanted but he was ill for the middle week of exams and so we are on tenterhooks. He did sit the exams but had a bucket next to him for 3 days.<br />
<br />
Rachael finished for the year - 2nd year of uni, I can't believe it! She has saved loads of her student loan and is off to Dubai and Malaysia for a few weeks. Whilst she is there she is doing a research project which will make up part of her year 3 work. She has been with her young man for 14 months now and seems happy with him. He has been to stay with us twice (when she has been home or it would be a bit weird) and he is a lovely lad. He looks after her and treats her well - what more can I ask for from him? <br />
<br />
Cats are still as doolally as ever. Biskey, despite being 12 is as kittenish as ever and can be relied on to wake me at 6 every morning. Maybe one day he will realise that weekends don't count - but I doubt it. Smudge is still allergic to life and needs a steroid injection every 6 weeks or so but other than that he is rocking along nicely.<br />
<br />
In stitching, I have had a few finishes, a few starts and a few FFOs. I will do a separate post to show you all that though. I have been trying not start anything new and have definitely not been buying anything new - oh other than collecting the Letters from Mum series. I did get a Lowery stand for a combined Christmas, birthday and Mother's Day present. How on earth have I survived without it for all these years? It is amazing!<br />
<br />
Well...I think that will do for now. Stitching stuff to follow in the next couple of days.</div>

Hello to anyone who is still around, the whole world seems to have switched over to Flosstube which seems to have become a bit of an obsession of mine! There are so many talented stitchers out there showcasing their work. Even the stitch with me videos are great as I can stitch along and just listen to them talk about what's going on in their lives - but you know all this! Rachael keeps saying that I should do my own flosstube video - honestly that girl is MAD! Rachael is is a big fan of Flannel Jammies Farm and Luke will 'sit through' (watching but he'd never admit it!) The Addicted Sisters.<br />
<br />
So...since I last posted I haven't really had any finishes. I am in the middle of stitching a hardanger ring cushion for my workmate for her wedding in October. I have just started the cutting - argggggghhhh! It's scary!<br />
<br />
I have stitched another page and a partial page on Poppy Dance and have now finished the top row of it. When I pick it up, I find it hard to put it down again even if it is slow going to see any progress on it.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">And the whole thing so far :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I have also finished February's part on the Under the Sea SAL from Lakeside. Well I say finished but I need to get a thread to finish one of the fish but other than that, it's finished! I started on May's design as that meant I didn't need to move the Q-Snap.<br />

I am still working through the focus pieces for the year for the rest of the year but I am planning on a new start in the first time for a long time. I have started collecting the Letters from Mom (that will be getting spelt properly - sorry US readers) and plan on stitching one each for Rachael and Luke. I'm not sure that Luke will appreciate it though. </div>

Cauldrons (aka Spell Check) is another cute little Hallowe'en finish that I can't for the life of me remember where it came from. I am going to hazard a guess that it was from an old issue of Just Cross Stitch magazine. I'll have to go and have a root through and see if I can find it. I do know that the fabric was Pumpkin Patch from Sparklies.<br />

Just to ease you into the shock of me FFOing, I will show you my latest 2 finishes first.<br />
<br />
So first up is Lizzie Kate's 6 Fat Men which I originally started as a SAL - I have finally finished part 1 of it. I do have 3 borders stitched too and when I got Luke to choose the next chart, he chose the biggest one with some cute little houses but about a third of the design is snow - boring, boring, stitches never look good snow. Thanks Luke!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">6 Fat Men - Snowed in - Lizzie Kate</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I thought I might get another of the old Flip-It's done. With August finished, I am now half way through the series. Who knows, give me another 17 years and I may well have finished it! Actually that isn't strictly fair as I definitely didn't buy these when they first came out. I would still have been buying kits from Wilkinson's back then!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rL4xKIFWHpQ/Wre7_TC_ytI/AAAAAAAAFDI/KX-W_Yp4P68_hMnqsAaMOsDU8_LLd9vQwCLcBGAs/s1600/20180316_222923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rL4xKIFWHpQ/Wre7_TC_ytI/AAAAAAAAFDI/KX-W_Yp4P68_hMnqsAaMOsDU8_LLd9vQwCLcBGAs/s320/20180316_222923.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then onto the FFOs. There is a bit of an odd reason why I did these. One of my work colleagues, a lad of 21, split his pants the other day. After I got over my giggles - well it was in front of 4 classes - I offered to sew them for him. Fast forward to yesterday and I thought I would get my sewing machine out to do them and then thought I might as well make a couple of things up whilst it's out. Luke was out at his first university Open Day (already?) so I could spread out over the dining area and the kitchen without getting under his feet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This first one, Boo, already had the front fabrics stitched onto it and so just needed the backing adding and stuffing. I think next time I might try a bigger fabric on the side and bottom but I like it and have added it to my hallowe'en display (yes, it stays out all year). I can't remember who the chart was by for this so if you know can you tell me please so I can add it to the caption.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Long time ago in...sorry I was about to burst into song then. Once upon a time Gaynor of StitchersAnon was releasing a Hallowe'en SAL and gave the group loads of freebies beforehand. This is one of them. I kept the fabric plain and just stitched the ric rac on with a metallic green thread for the eyes of green in the design. I also stitched the black fabric on with the same metallic thread. It needs a bit more stuffing in it and then the gap closing...but that's the easy part!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Then we have another StitchersAnon piece which was supposed to be the Retreat piece that we all got to work on, but I couldn't make it in the end. I have always regretted not being able to go. <div style="text-align: left;">
And finally, we have yet another StitchersAnon piece which I was apparently rubbish at taking a photo of today. What it actually says is:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whatever the distance</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wherever I roam</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With needle and thread</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll make it my home. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I changed all the threads when I stitched it I think. The bow on top was made from the ribbon of a box of posh chocolates that one of my colleagues bought me a few months ago. It just goes to show that it is worth keeping things like that! The backing fabric was gifted to me a few years ago and although I loved the colour and design I didn't have a clue what to use it on. It is actually absolutely perfect for the design.</div>

After finishing Oh Christmas Tree yesterday, I asked Luke to choose a number 1 - 16. I can't remember which number he chose but it corresponded to one of the designs that I had already stitched. Therefore, I made the decision to stitch an ornie from last year's JCS ornie issue for the Facebook SAL. <br />
<br />
After stitching the silly thing twice with all the unpicking I had to do, it was finished earlier tonight.<br />
I changed the threads to just random ones from my stash and the fabric is just the same random piece that I have used all for all my ornies this year.<br />

I have another finish!!! I would love to say I finished them on the same day but sadly I had to stay up until 1.30am to finish it so I suppose that isn't really the same day. But...even better...I can say that I had 2 finishes within 12 hours!<br />

15? 15 what I hear you ask. See if you can guess before you read any further.<br />
<br />
15 little itty bitty Christmas finishes that need FFOing. Well! Luke is away on a college residential to the Lake Distric next week so I could get the sewing machine out and leave it on the kitchen table all week!! So, watch this space!<br />
<br />
I got my Around the World in 80 Stitches out during the week as it fitted most of the Stitch Maynia Olympic challenges. I didn't do much - it was the last week of term which is always hectic as we have to fit EVERYTHING in that doesn't want carrying forward to next term into it.<br />
<br />
To add to the Christmas shame...I finished another design yesterday. In my defence, it is almost FFOed. All it needs is some felt on the back to cover up the stitching mess that is there. Snowflake Tree by Mill Hill stitched on perforated paper. It was my first time using the stuff and I am still undecided whether I like it or not. It is a really cute design and will be lovely on my little ornie tree this year. This was one of the projects on my focus list for the year which means I have now finished 3 projects off that.<br />

In other news, Luke brought home a trip letter from college this week. I think I prefer the good old primary school days when a trip letter meant finding a tenner to pay for it. This one is a 'psychology' trip to New York for 5 days. A mere £1000!!! Sorry, I shouldn't exaggerate, I do get £15 change from my £1000. Still they are packing in absolutely tons of activities in the short time they are there so it will be well worth it - especially since it will be the first time he has ever left the country! I wonder if I could get him to go cross stitch shopping for me??? Hmmmm...</div>

This is getting to be a bit of a habit!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Well what a busy stitching week I have had. Watching flosstube and stitching is as good as it gets I think. I love feeling like 'someone' is stitching with me (even if I am rather late to the party!)<br />
<br />
This week has seen Positive Thinking getting a little (actually quite a lot) of TLC. I had finished all of part one, some of part two and the words for part three. I can now confirm that ALL of part two is done as is ALL of part three. This was going to be my focus piece until either it was finished or I got bored. However, as a Stitch Mayniac, I decided to do the Olympic Stitching Challenge which has different challenges for each day.<br />

Friday, for the Opening Ceremony was either a new start (NOOOOOOO!!!!!) or work on your most recent start. I am pretty sure that the last thing I started was Lakeside Needlecraft's Under the Sea SAL. I actually didn't realise that it had been so long since I had started anything, other than the JCS ornies. That's impressive for me :)<br />

Saturday was to stitch something with a winter theme. Well in true Jo Perry fashion, I decided that Christmas is in winter and that I could therefore work on Oh Christmas Tree. I am also going to work on this for the last challenge which is to work on a piece close to a finish. I am hoping that it will actually get finished. There is very little left to do - a bit to the bottom right where I couldn't be bothered to move the Q-Snap, the pot it is in and a bigger chunk on the lefthandside. (Justine, would you still like this one when it is finished? There is hope!)<br />

Sunday was Korean themed day. Thankfully, the Korean flag has a lot of white - as does iStitch Advent SAL 2015. I am really happy to have got bands 8, 9, 10 and some of 11 stitched today. I am going to go back to it in a minute and will hopefully get band 11 finished. The photos are shocking! It stands out so much more in reality.<br />

Tomorrow is animal themed day. I am going to work on Nature Patchwork which was gifted to me a gazillion years ago and I used to work on when bathing the kids when they were little. Well not so much when I was bathing them, more supervising the splashing. Looking at it has given me a warm, fuzzy feeling...awwww.<br />
<br />
In other news - Rachael had an interview for NCS on Monday. Well, it wasn't so much an interview as groupwork, interview, presentations and all sorts of activities. She was complimented by 2 of the 'examiners' on her presentation skills and was offered the job the following morning. That's the summer holidays taken care of then!! </div>

Well...that's probably a slight exaggeration. I do, however, have 2 finishes for the JCS SAL on facebook.<br />
<br />
First up, is Lizzie Kate's Very Merry. This can be described as personalised - that is, I miscounted and couldn't be bothered frogging a whole flower! It uses random threads and is stitched on the same piece of random fabric as the cute kitties from last time.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PJj2-MuiGcM/WndxFmo-DRI/AAAAAAAAE_g/oYa_iuoq6i83lajH9UraWDx9tw45CwB6QCLcBGAs/s1600/20180201_230921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PJj2-MuiGcM/WndxFmo-DRI/AAAAAAAAE_g/oYa_iuoq6i83lajH9UraWDx9tw45CwB6QCLcBGAs/s320/20180201_230921.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Lizzie Kate - Very Merry</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Then...tonight I have finished The Little Stitcher's Warm hands, Warm heart. This is the same piece of fabric and different random threads. Again, it is personalised as I miscounted the side border, then discovered it was 2 stitches short. <br />
<br />

Now, I have had a totally weird thought, bear with me. So far, I have stitched 3 of this year's designs and I think I stitched 3 (or possibly 4) of last year's too. I may even have a few from the previous year. Wouldn't it be a great idea to sort out fabrics and trims for these...............and finish finish them...actually make them into ornies!!!!! I told you it was weird!!! </div>

This is the 3rd year that I have been part of the JCS SAL group on Facebook. Here is my first finish for the year which should have been November's ornie. I just thought that it was SO cute that I would do it first. The fabric is a random piece from my stash as are the threads. It should have been stitched 1 over 2 but I have done 2 over 2. I decided not to add the button or to do the nun stitch border. Apart from that, it is exactly as charted!!<br />

Well, I do - but it is also the 'thing' that I finished today. This little bookmark kit was a cover freebie from CrossStitcher magazine around about a gazillion years ago. I probably won't finish it as a bookmark but after about 10...15...ok ok...maybe more...here is I love cross stitch, the bookmark!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wUusysIWUEE/WmTIOIjRhMI/AAAAAAAAE-A/N8gAf1zDG3Qhq4HAakcJT0sG60jWx1KsACLcBGAs/s1600/20180121_141946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wUusysIWUEE/WmTIOIjRhMI/AAAAAAAAE-A/N8gAf1zDG3Qhq4HAakcJT0sG60jWx1KsACLcBGAs/s320/20180121_141946.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The one thing that is annoying me is how there was a wider gap at the top between the design and the border to what there was under the flowerpot. I will have to see how much it annoys me and perhaps change it so they are the same width. The border should have been 3 wide but looked very heavy so I changed that as well. Oh and it should all have been stitched with one thread but that clearly didn't register when I started it as it was 2 threads. I left out the back stitch too as it was that blocky outlining that doesn't usually add much to a piece. Apart from that it is as charted/designed 😜<br />
<br />
Last year, I got loads of SewandSo vouchers for Christmas and birthday presents and therefore treated myself to a floor stand. Today I have put Gardens of London on it so that I can work on that more effectively. I thought I would bore you with a few pics of what it looks like at the moment.<br />

Having not done a lot of stitching lasy year really, well certainly the latter half of the year, I intend to get back to it. I was going to carry on with the tapering rotation but have decided to go through my stash - honestly and with the critical eye. Whilst doing this I ended up with several boxes - the 'yes I still want to stitch this as some point in my life' box, the 'eurghhh, why did I ever buy/start that' box, the 'oooh yes, I love that' box, 'hmmmm, don't know' box and the 'why the hell is that still not finished?' box. I have listed a whole load of stuff on ebay and made a few pennies from it and re-arranged everything so I know where to find it, with the exception being a few <strike>WIP</strike>/UFOs that I can't find where I put them!<br />
<br />
So the box I am currently working with is actually a partial amalgamation of 2 boxes. I have the 'why is that not finished' box and a few from the 'oooh yes, I love that' box. These have become my Focus for 2018 box. I think there were 25 pieces on there, which makes it just less than a third of my entire currently started list. I can already claim a finish from the WTHITSNF box with Strawberry Scissor Case by Lizzie Kate being finished after about 10 years!!! Is that some kind of appalling record for a very small Lizzie Kate design?<br />

There's been a lot of changes in the last few months - Rachael's gone off to university to study biology. She didn't get the grades for Lancaster in the end so had to go through clearing. After a scary week of visiting unis that we had never even considered before, she settled on Keele and has been loving it ever since. She has made loads of friends and seems to be enjoying the course very much.<br />
<br />
Luke has college now and is studying psychology, geography and sociology. He had a bit of a blip a few weeks ago and was skiving but is back on track now and working hard.<br />
<br />
I'm just carrying on - work, home, archery, church (not always in the same order!) That's it with me really!<br />
<br />
I know a lot of people seem to have given up on blogging for other platforms but I haven't really found any that I like as much as blogging. So I do read facebook, but didn't get on with Instagram and others. I have started watching a bit of flosstube and have found a few bloggers I have followed are on there. Of course I have to be able to get the TV first! It's not the same watching it on the laptop.<br />
So anyway, hopefully I will get a bit more blogging done as well as stitching this year!<br />

Finally, David Tennant which was from an Etsy seller ( I can't remember who!)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
David Tennant was for Rachael's birthday - her 18th birthday! How on earth did that happen? How can I be the mother of an adult. Don't worry, we have already had the 'you may be an adult but it's my house, my rules' chat! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did underestimate the time it would take me to stitch it and ended up stitching on it until 3.30 am on her birthday. Thankfully, Rachael slept in until 9.30 so I did get enough sleep for her big day!!! She had a wonderful time and the restaurant we went to, gave her a really good night with complementary drinks and a special dessert.</div>

Well strangely enough, lots of stitching!<br />
<br />
I have had another finish on Poppy Dance. That's 6 full pages done. 6!! Full pages!! Of a HaED!! By me!! Can you believe it? There are only another 19 pages to go although I think only 9 or 10 of them are full pages, with the rest being partial pages.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have also finished 2 of the 12 designs for the JCS Ornie SAL on facebook. I'm in shock...the kids are in shock and I think even the cats are in shock!<br />

I am also doing what used to be known as the Catholic Teacher's Certificate (now CCRS). So far, I have submitted 3 assignments and all 3 have come back as distinctions which I am really pleased about. There is one more to submit this academic year, so fingers crossed for a full house.</div>

Well....the tapered rotation is going well. I did change it very slightly and decided that my first slot will be my HaED slot. I finished the page on Poppy Dance and then started a new design called Kitty Heaven. I am doing the first page as the challenge in the Facebook group. It's much more confetti-ish than Poppy Dance but will be gorgeous in about 20 years time. </div>

Recently, after reading one of my favourite blogs - <a href="http://dragonsluver.blogspot.co.uk/">Jeremiah's Mom</a> recently, we had a discussion on boxes of shame. The idea being that she will 'finish' finish the 29 pieces that she had stitched but boxed up. She challenged me to examine my box of shame...biiiiiiiig mistake! I have 38!!!! 38 stitched but nothing else done with them pieces...oh...dear. I think I might need to do something about them.<br />
<br />
Now onto the 'it's a shame' part of my title. Well really, that's not fair to say. Rachael has received an offer from Lancaster to study Biochemistry. This was her first choice uni but because she didn't do so well in her AS levels in chemistry, we thought she would be unlikely to get a place there. She applied to go there for biology, just in case, as that was a grade lower than biochem. She is pleased as punch and absolutely over the moon that she will (hopefully) be going there. I'm pleased as it is only an hour away :)<br />
<br />
The rotation is going well - 7 hours into round 1!!<br />
<br />
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have a second finish of the year. This is the ORT ornie for 2016 orts. I actually had a bit of a disaster with this one. I obviously did more stitching last year than I thought and I had to make a second one, a larger one to accomodate them all. Oh well!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So far the rotation is going well! (Other than making this one, obviously) and I have stitched 3 and a half hours on Poppy Dance. I forgot to take a photo of it before I started stitching though - doh! I have almost finished another page, so I will take it off the Q Snaps once I do and take a photo. This page is looking gorgeous, lots of pretty reds and oranges. I hope my mum is going to like it when it is finally finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope everyone else is having a great start to the new year too. </div>
</div>

Hands up...who has heard of a tapered rotation?<br />
<br />
Well, I hadn't but Karyn of <a href="https://theteakettlecorner.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/stiching-in-2017.html?showComment=1483396071812#c6387102287300802469">My Stitching Nook</a> has posted about trying this for 2017. It sounds brilliant as I have been trying to work out how to get loads of progress on Poppy Dance but also on some of my other projects too.<br />
<br />
The idea is that you choose XX number of projects to stitch XX number of hours on. So for me, I think it will be 6 projects and 10 hours.<br />
<br />
Then:<br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Round 1 - you stitch on project 1.</li>
<li>Round 2 - you stitch on project 1 and then project 2.</li>
<li>Round 3 - you stitch on project 1, then project 2 and finally project 3.</li>
<li>...and so on for however many rounds you decide to do.</li>
</ul>
<div>
So my 6 projects are going to be</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Poppy Dance - Marianne Broome</li>
<li>Under the Sea/Fantasy SAL's - Durene Jones/Kate Worthington</li>
<li>iStitch Advents for 2015 and/or 2016 - Carol Ridyard</li>
<li>Witchful Thinking/Tomb it May Concern - Pickle Barrel Designs</li>
<li>Flip-its 2001 - Lizzie Kate</li>
<li>Everyone Brings Joy - Waxing Moon Designs</li>
</ol>
<div>
As you can see, I have added in a couple of SAL's that I am doing/did/should have done so should more or less keep up with those. There are some smaller designs that will see finishes pretty quickly which should help keep the motivation going and reduce my WIP/UFO list too.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Wish me luck, you know what I'm like :)</div>
</div>

This is my ort ornie for 2015 (no, that's not a typo). I'm not sure which is worse...not making the ort ornie for over a year, or the fact that I carefully guarded them for a year!!</p>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy New Year to you all.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope it holds everything you want it to and that you and yours will be happy and healthy.</div>

There has been too much bad news for a lot of people in 2016 and I hope that we can ALL leave that behind and will have things to celebrate in 2017.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For me, I want to get back to regular blogging and stitching and for the kids to do well with their A levels and GCSE's this year so that they can go on to do whatever they want to in life. I want my friends to stay well and happy. That's all I want from life next year.</div>
