Treat from Colin

I was off work for a couple of weeks recently with workplace related stress.  Actually I debated whether to tell anyone that because it has a kind of 'you just need to get on with it' connotation to it, a bit like if you tell someone you are depressed and get told to 'pull yourself together'.  But there it is.  Anyway, last Monday I came home from my first day back and burst into tears as soon as I got out of the car.  Colin, bless him, missed all this as he wasn't home from work at the time but when the children told him about it, he decided I needed a cheering up treat.  He found my wishlist here on my blog and treated me to this.

Now, I'll be honest, as cute as I find many dragon designs it is not something I would normally choose to stitch.  But...look at that cute little face...and the chocolate and the title of the book...seriously how could I NOT love 'The History of Chocolate - a love story'.  So this is what I may possibly have accidentally started the other day.  Being the dimwit that I am, I confused 3371 with 3771 and ended up having 79 pale peach stitches instead of 79 dark brown.  Not much difference there then!  I won't bore you with photos of my dark brown blob especially as it's over 1 - it's even more boring than my normal blobs!

Aw bless you: you may have read my last post re: stress and its affects. As far as I'm concerned it isnt a big issue re: stigma, but to the individual suffering it, it sucks. Big Time. I love your chart..it is really, really cute! Hope things feel a better soon. (((((hugs)))))

Ah, he's such a sweetie. But you are right, this design is so much more suited to me. I would be very willing to give him a loving home once he is finished!!

Colin has been such a sweetie!! This chart is the perfect gift for a pick me up boost. Work related stress is not a stigma, better out than in. Best to talk about it... I'm being there, doing that,so I really feel for you darling. Keep your chin up xxx

So thoughtful of Colin and darling design. Darling new design.
Stress effects one in too many ways. I pray that you recover and find peace and that the core of your stress changes for the better for you. Many hugs - love Annette

I'm so sorry you are having work stress. I hope you can find the right fix. Please don't feel bad for talking about it. In my opinion your blog is yours. If someone doesn't agree with what you post they have no right to say anything about it. It always feels better to talk about it then hold it inside.

Love the design. I'm a huge dragon fan. I hope you enjoy stitching it. Sorry it started with a mistake. As a fellow HAED stitcher we understand how important those pictures of blobs are haha.

We have all been there with work. Those who say they don't get fried by work either don't admit it or they are not conscientious workers. Don't beat yourself up for needing some time away from work. Maybe, just maybe work will appreciate you more! Lack of appreciation and the inequitable distribution of workload gets me every time.

A sweet dragon from a sweet Colin for a sweet lady! Please do share with us. Getting those feeling out should help, at least a bit.

Sharon, these things sometimes happen and they have nothing to do with "Grit your teeth and get on with it". Everyone reacts differently to stress situations and it can be huge help to get away from it for some weeks. And yes, going back can be rough and again it's nothing anybody else should judge. I'm happy for you that Colin got you a treat and hope you'll be able to enjoy stitching the design.
