So far I only have one taker for my PIF. Sign up here if you want to join in. I will leave it open for a few more days to see if I get anyone else.

I am going to do a giveaway. My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on the 22nd November 2005. Unless you have been there, you cannot imagine the impact that diabetes can have on a family's life. Realistically there is not likely to be a cure any time soon. They may be able to do different things to control it but they won't be able to cure it. Many people think that Type 1 is pretty much the same as Type 2 but there are HUGE differences. Many (not all Type 2's) get it due to diet and lifestyle choices. Type 1's DON'T. It is because their pancreas stops working and no longer produces insulin.

On 14th November it is World Diabetes Day. This is to raise awareness of diabetes. They try to light up the world with blue lights - there may be one near you! So in honour of this, I will be giving away a little "goodie bag" of cross stitch bits which will have a blue theme! If you would like to enter the draw for this leave me a comment on this posting. I will do the draw on Friday 14th November. Good luck!!

Being a Type 2 myself I always support anything to do with Diabetes awareness and carry my Diabetes UK brolly proudly in the rain.

Put me down for the giveaway please

My stepdad suffers from type 2 diabetes which complicates all his other health problems, so I can certainly sympathise with the impact it has on your family's life. Could I be entered for your draw too please?

Do you accept entries from Australia? If you do I'd love to be in the draw.

My Grandmother has Type 2 Diabetes.

My husband, FIL and grandmother are all diabetic, so I know the impact of diabetes on the family all too well. It's no picnic, that's for sure!

I'd love to be entered into your drawing.

I don't have anyone close to me that has diabetes but do know some people that have it and I do realize the impact that it can have on your life.

My grandfather has diabetes my father was about to get it at one point but I made sure he got healthy again and now he is :D he still continues to eat healthy and exercise almost daily --every other day :D
It's so sad whenever my grandfather needs to have some sweets or when he feels sick a few years ago I was in the hospital for a surgery (nothing serious) and while he was there visiting me he passed out! It was the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life! I was so scared but luckily the nurse came in quickly then they hauled him off to take care of him, it turned out he needed a pacemaker for his heart. He had been passing out quite often for years and no one knew why, until that day
